Over 500 youngsters from the north of Israel enjoyed Purim day of fun and excitement, thanks to a donation by Keren Hayesod Holland - Collectieve Israel Actie from the Alex Meijer Foundation.

As part of Keren Hayesod's 90th year celebration events, Keren Hayesod Switzerland held a major donors event attended by Sami Bolag, KH-Switzerland President; Marc Lauer, President of KH-Zurich and donors.

KH Switzerland is blessed with wonderful leaders and activists, who for the past 50 years, have dedicated their free time to the people of Israel. A special ceremony in their honour was held during KH Switzerland's Annual General Meeting on July 8, 2009, in Zurich.

The delegation from Finland enjoyed spectacular success at the recent Maccabiah games. The team's 'chef de mission' was no other than KH Chairman, Leo Dan Bensky. He was assisted by KH Finland Board member, Gil Mishal.

On July 16th, a group of 150 new Latin American olim who arrived in Israel the previous day, gathered at the Western Wall for a Jewish Agency ceremony, attended by distinguished representatives of Keren Hayesod and the Jewish Agency.

Isaac Marcovich has had a long and successful career in KH. In 2000 he was given Keren Hayesod’s Yakir award for his singular role in the organization. Throughout the years, Isaac has served as a role model of an exemplary community leader.

On July 2nd an important project of Keren Hayesod in Ceuta, Spain was launched. This extraordinary campaign was represented by its President, Mrs. Alicia Barchilón and her husband, Mimon Benzaquen, together with Mr. Yaacov Moreno, Deputy Director of the Europe Region, Keren Hayesod.

In his first official appearance since being elected Jewish Agency Chairman, Natan Sharansky welcomed 75 new immigrants from Ethiopia who just arrived in Israel at July 1st at a ceremony at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

Keren Hayesod was very happy to welcome the Dutch delegation to the 18th Maccabiah Games and to host the young athletes from Holland at a beautiful relaxed lunch in Jerusalem.

The Jewish Agency is expecting a 15% rise in the number of new immigrants to Israel in 2009 as compared to 2008. A total of 20 special flights organized by the Jewish Agency will land in Israel this summer, bringing some 3,000 new immigrants from around the world.

Great turn out for the Young Leadership conference in Marseille. Participants from around Europe enjoyed a beautiful and relaxed Shabbat together and continued to demonstrate their support for Israel.

On June 29, a delegation of Israeli officers and NCOs, together with KH representatives in Germany, took part in an extremely moving memorial ceremony at the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp near Berlin

Participants in the KH Annual World Conference, including members of the IWD and other visitors to Israel, came to honor Mrs. Rose Aboucaya from France, recipient of the KH IWD’s Award of Excellence for 2009. The ceremony took place at the opening event of the Conference, at the Clara Beach - one of the top night spots in Tel Aviv, on June 17th, 2009.

On the 22nd of June members of the Ebenezer Hilfsfonds from Germany visited the Amigour in Jerusalem. It was emotional two days; the entire group of Christian Germans made a moving speech in front of survivors. On the 23rd June, the group sponsored a flight of new immigrants from Ethiopia.

Natan Sharansky was elected to Chairman of the Executive of the Jewish Agency at our Board of Governor's Closing Plenary on Thursday June 25th.

The gift of a beautiful adventure playground – dedicated in loving memory of Julia Koschitzky's parents, Elli and Max Podolski (ZL), in honor of Israel's 60th anniversary – brought new life to the small shady park where Jerusalem's children come daily, looking for recreation.

At a heartwarming ceremony held in Netivot, on June 15th, KH Geneva Chairman Joseph (Jo) Benhamou inaugurated the educational playground he and his wife Viviane gave to the children of this town. Founded in 1956, Netivot today is home to 26,000 inhabitants.

On Thursday, April 16, 2009, the Saunders family from Hong Kong visited the Absorption Center in Mevasseret Zion, one of many absorption centers located throughout Israel that give new immigrants their first home in Israel.
