"60 Playgrounds for 60 Years"

First KH-UIA playground, gift from Mrs. Estera Lewkowicz-Korenberg (Belgium), has been dedicated in Lod on June 19.

Keren Hayesod is proud to take part in marking Israel’s 60th year. . .

And what better way to celebrate Israel’s future than by nurturing our most valuable asset – our children?!

More than child’s play…

Children are never more at home and rarely more animated than in a playground - a special place, where they are free to run, climb and jump. Adventure playgrounds should be a part of every growing child’s life.

Beyond providing a recreational pastime, a playground is an essential part of ensuring healthy child development. Experts agree that even the most basic playground apparatus can make a difference to a child’s physical, mental and social wellbeing – helping develop gross motor coordination and physical fitness, in addition to enhancing all-important cognitive and social skills. Outdoor play stimulates creativity and resourcefulness and helps inspire confidence and optimism. In Israel, where most children grow up in small apartments, playgrounds play a particularly important role in children’s lives.

For children living on Israel’s confrontation lines, playgrounds can also provide an important means of release, often providing a therapeutic diversion from the tensions that surround them.  Anyone who has watched a child absorbed in play in a playground setting can attest to the enriching and heartwarming benefits of such activity.

All playgrounds will meet the highest standards of quality and safety and will be constructed:
 Under the supervision of experts and professionals
 Using environmentally-friendly materials that are produced in Israel

A gift to nurture Israel’s children:
