A true friend of Israel and the Jewish people, Richard Pratt's decades-long friendship and outstanding generosity to Keren Hayesod – UIA, exemplified his deep love and his unwavering faith in the Jewish State. He was a man of extraordinary vision and far reaching deeds who succeeded in bringing together the threads of his personal history and life-goals to serve the ideals he held dear. This was never more eloquently expressed than in the 2008 opening of the Be'er Sheva 'Park of the Australian Soldier' for disabled children, undertaken in partnership with Keren Hayesod – UIA. The dedication was attended by the Governor-General of Australia and the President of Israel, serving to reinforce ties between the two countries.
In 2000, Richard Pratt was presented with the prestigious Keren Hayesod Nadiv Award by Prime Minister Ehud Barak, for his distinguished philanthropy and contribution to the State of Israel. Richard Pratt's dedication and indefatigable efforts on behalf of Israel were shared by his dear wife, Jeanne, who was herself honored by Keren Hayesod – UIA's International Women's Division in 2007. Richard Pratt's deep commitment to Israel was passed on to his beloved children, Anthony, Heloise and Fiona.
