KH-UIA Funded Partners Responding to the Needs of the People of the South

The following is an update on some of the activities which have been put into action to assist the people of the South during these difficult times

Fund for Victims of Terror – is in constant contact with local municipalities to provide financial assistance to people whose homes have been directly hit by missiles.

At Home Together  – families who participate in this program, in which Israeli families adopt Olim families, are currently volunteering to host families from the South.

Ayalim Student Scholarships – students who receive academic scholarships, partially funded by KH-UIA, are volunteering in the South and are providing assistance to vulnerable populations, including operating public bomb shelters.

Ayalim Student Villages – students living in Ayalim villages that are out of missile range are hosting groups of children and youth from the Sha>ar Hanegev Region in the South, providing them with safe accommodations, full board, and respite activities.

Net@ - over 130 students of the Net@ project in the South are being taken to a week long camp in Nitzana, where they will take part in fun activities, will continue their computer studies, and will participate in post-trauma seminars. In addition, Net@ instructors and professionals are participating in training and relief programs so that they can better support their students.

Youth Futures – the 341 children at risk participating in the Youth Futures project in the South are being provided with emotional assistance by their counselors, volunteers and experienced social workers.

Etgarim - over 100 youth from the Etgarim after-school program for youth at risk were taken out of Sderot for a three-day trip in the Judean desert.

Jewish Agency Emergency Hotline – has been established to provide assistance to the residents of the South who are looking to be hosted by families living in the center of the country. The hotline is also arranging for video conference link ups for young immigrants who made Aliyah without their families.

We call on you to support the special Emergency Campaign for the People of the South that has been established, so that we can continue to stand by those in need.

You may contribute either by contacting your local Keren Hayesod – UIA Shaliach or contributing directly at our website: WWW.KH-UIA.ORG.IL
