Marc Gold was born in Montreal, and is a graduate of McGill University. He holds law degrees from the University of British Columbia and Harvard Law School, and is a member of the bar of Ontario. A former law professor and Associate Dean at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, he currently is Vice-President of Maxwell Cummings & Sons Holdings Limited and lectures at the Faculty of Law, McGill University.
He is the national Chair of the Canada-Israel Committee, First Vice-President of FEDERATION CJA, a Board Member of the Jewish Agency for Israel, and a member of the Executive Committee of United Israel Appeals Federations Canada.
He is a member of the Conseil de l’Université, Université de Montréal, the Conseil de Direction, Centre de recherché en droit public, Université de Montréal, a Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, an Honourary Trustee of the Sir Mortimer B. Davis – Jewish General Hospital Foundation, and a member of the Executive Committee of La Fondation de la Tolérance.
He is married to Nancy Cummings Gold, and has two children, Jenny and Jon.
