As has been evident so often in recent years, Finland's tiny Jewish community is a prime example that size does not matter – a giant heart and generous hand make KH Finland such an outstanding Campaign!

Over 100 people attended the annual kickoff luncheon of the Keren Hayesod Finland Campaign, which took place on Sunday, 3 April. Guests of honor were Avi Granot, Israel's Ambassador to Finland, and Dr. Boaz Bismuth, Foreign Editor of the Israel Hayom newspaper.  Master of Ceremonies, KH Finland Chairman Leo Dan Bensky, opened the event with a review of last year's achievements and a short tribute to his father Dave z"l, long-time head of KH Finland, who passed away a year ago.

In his greetings, Ambassador Granot commended each of the participants for the warm support  that Finland's tiny Jewish community gives Keren Hayesod and the State of Israel.

Dr. Bismuth, the keynote speaker, delivered an exciting political analysis interwoven with his personal experiences traveling in 18 Arab countries.  The many questions from the floor reflected  the great interest he aroused in the audience.

Jacob Snir, KH director for Europe, rounded up the event with his review of the historical role played by KH over the past 91 years.

Later that day, an "Exodus" evening organized by the Patmos Foundation took place in one of Helsinki's major churches.  Keren Hayesod representatives appeared before hundreds of warm supporters, who have been contributing to the Campaign for years.  They presented a check to support of the aliyah of Jews from distressed countries.

As has been evident so often in recent years, Finland's tiny Jewish community is a prime example that size does not matter – a giant heart and generous hand make KH Finland such an outstanding Campaign!
