Josh Saddick from Perth, Australia is in Israel participating in the Israel Government Fellows Programme (IGF), in affiliation with Masa Israel Journey
Josh is no stranger to Keren Hayesod-UIA, as he has grown up in a family that is an integral part of the UIA campaign. Josh decided to take a day off from work as he felt it was important to see the work being done in Israel by Keren Hayesod-UIA.

On Tuesday, January 15, 2012, Josh visited the Keren Hayesod-UIA supported Youth Village at Kiryat Yearim. Upon arrival to Kiryat Yearim, he was greeted by Amira Teicnher, the School Principal and heard a briefing on the Village and learned about all of the complex issues these children face on a daily basis.
During a comprehensive tour of the village, Josh got to meet some students and was able to see the wonderful work being done to assist these young people.
New immigrant enjoying the enrichment class for the elderly at the absorption centre
The next stop was a visit to the Absorption Centre in Mevaseret Zion, where he was greeted by Jewish Agency for Israel staff who explained about aliyah and absorption to Israel for the Ethiopian Community. He heard a personal story from Yishambel, who today works at the Centre and visited an enrichment class for the elderly new immigrants. The highlight was a visit to the kindergarten for 3 and 4 year olds at the Absorption Centre - the children were so excited to meet Josh!
This truly was a wonderful experience and we are grateful to Josh for taking time out of his personal schedule to visit KH-UIA projects.
