This year’s acclaimed guest speaker, Mr. Hillel Neuer, the highly influential Canadian diplomat, international lawyer, writer and advocate of human rights gave an inspiring address. Neuer is also the Executive Director of UN Watch, which was established to ensure that the UN is acting on its own principles. A widely known advocate of Israel, Neuerhas presented these views in testimonies before the UN and U.S. Congress. It has been said that Neuer is ‘helping to shape history’ and as such has been recognized by the city of Chicago for his role “as one of the world’s more foremost human rights advocates” with a ‘Hillel Neuer Day. During his speech, Neuer discussed the turmoil that ensues when there is a confrontation at the UN about matters relating to Israel, as well as the great and seemingly constant state of hostility towards himself and his actions for the country.
