Keren Hayesod World Conference participants mark Memorial Day
The participants of the Keren Hayesod Annual World Conference marked the beginning of Memorial Day, (Yom Hazikaron in Hebrew), at an emotional ceremony at the Armored Corps memorial at Latrun, a major battle site in both the Israeli War of Independence and the Six-Day War, located between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Since last Memorial Day, 72 dead have been added to the roster of Israel’s fallen and another 30 disabled veterans have died of prior injuries. The number of dead in the defense of the country and from other hostile acts now stands at 23,646 since 1860.
