Dear Goldwasser and Regev families,It was with such sadness and anger that I learnt of the murder of your two “boys”.  It seems that the world is going mad again with the behaviour of these terrorists emulating the activities of the Nazis. My thoughts and sympathy goes out to you in these terrible days of anguish.  May, with the passing of time, your pain lessen and your anguish subside, and may you and yours have “long life”.

Recent barbarities have taught me that the human rights, we Europeans mistakenly take for granted ultimately can't be had for free. Presently the price for their upkeep is almost fully being borne by Israeli soldiers alone facing fiends of mankind that have fallen way behind the moral standards of the middle ages and that have no compunctions about breaking civilization's last taboos.

As a non-Jewish friend and supporter of IFCJ and Keren Hayesod I would like to express my deep condolences.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. For two long years they waited in vain for a hopeful sign of life. Hassan Nasrallah's silence was unbearable. Neither the desperate pleas of the families, nor political reason could deter him from his mission achieve a supposed triumph over Israel.

Whereas the government of Israel proved its moral strength, showing that non-one is forgotten, no-one left in the hands of the enemies. Israel's sons are brought home, even if in this tragic way, to be buried in Isaeli grounds.

We appreciate the role the German government and the United Nations played in mediating the soldiers' return and thank those involved for their efforts.

"He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth.

The Lord has spoken. " (Isaiah 25:8)

Most sincere condolences for the loss of your loved ones and the inhuman added pain inflicted by their murderers.

A las familias de Eldad Regev y de Ehud Goldwasser, mis más sentidas condolencias. Ellos defendían su propia libertad, así como la de todos los israelíes y la de todos los ciudadanos del mundo. Estamos en deuda con ellos. Recordarles y honrarles es el mínimo pago que podemos brindarles.

Es fällt schwer, Worte nach solch einem Verbrechen zu finden.

Wir haben im Gedenken an die beiden jungen Männer und als Zeichen der Trauer und Verbundenheit mit den Familien Goldwassen und Regev für Ehud 10 Bäume und für Eldad 10 Bäume im Wald des Landes Brandenburg pflanzen lassen.

Uns ist bewusst, daß es in solch schmerzlichen Verlusten für eine lange Zeit keinen wirklichen Trost geben kann und diese Geste nur ein Zeichen unserer Betroffenheit und des Mitgefühls sein kann .

Desde Barcelona (España) damos nuestro más sentido pésame a las familias de los soldados Elad Reguev y Ehud Goldwasser. Nunca una pérdida había sido tan dolorosa para nosotros, pero estamos convencidos que el sacrificio de sus queridos hijos no habrá sido en vano.

Tanto Israel como las familias Reguev y Goldwasser puede sentirse orgullosos de tener hijos dispuestos a dar sus vidas por su país.

Su muerte nos reafirma en nuestro deseo de seguir apoyando al estado de Israel con todas nuestras fuerzas y nuestros medios.
