Life-changing immersive programs in Israel

Masa

What is Masa?

Masa Israel Journey is the leader in immersive international experiences in Israel for young Jews from around the world. Since its founding in 2004, Masa has tripled the number of young Jews coming to Israel for programs of 2-12 months. Annually, more than 12,000 young Jews aged 18-30 years old enjoy Masa’s 200 accredited programs, which include options for gap year, study abroad, volunteer and career development opportunities

Masa

A Transformative Experience

Masa participants report higher levels of connection to Jewish life and Israel after their programs. Participants say that living in Israel was the most effective way to strengthen their relationship with Israel and the vast majority intend to act to improve Israel’s image in their home communities. Back home, they are twice as likely to take on leadership roles in the Jewish community and make contributions to Jewish causes.

Masa

Launchpad to Aliyah

Masa serves as a launching pad to aliyah for many participants. Young Jews, especially from the Former Soviet Union and France, come on Masa programs to explore the possibility of making Israel their permanent home and gaining the skills, connections and support networks necessary for a successful transition into Israeli society.

The Masa Experience

The Masa Experience

Daphne Tapia, 22 years old, is a Masa alumni from Paris. While studying in France, Daphne developed a passion for geography. She found a master’s degree program at Tel Aviv University, an accredited Masa program, which allowed her to pursue her interests in environmental studies with a focus on water, which Israel is a world leader in. Daphne gained confidence in Hebrew, made Israeli friends, and had opportunities to network. During her time on Masa, she realized the importance of maps for life in Israel, and today she is pursuing studies in cartography.
