Enjoy special Rosh Hashana greetings from the people of Israel!

It is an exciting time of the year for many, especially Israel’s children and youth who returned to school after summer vacation, and for many, after a year of virtual learning.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett opened the new academic year while joined by Education Minister Dr. Yifat Shasha-Biton and Yerucham Mayor Tal Ohana. They visited Eli Cohen Meuchad School in Yerucham, a school that Keren Hayesod’s friends in Colombia are helping to renovate.

The Prime Minister noted in his remarks:

“I would like to welcome you, the pupils of the Eli Cohen Meuchad School, and tell you something about the late Eli Cohen, a hero of Israel. What we learn from him are these words: ‘And love your neighbor as you would yourself.’ This is the greatest and most important rule in the Torah – to treat others as you would like to them to treat you.”

MK Nir Orbach, Education Ministry Director-General Yigal Slovik, Teachers’ Union Secretary General Yaffa Ben-David, Education Ministry Southern District Director Ram Zehavi, Yerucham Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Shalev and other officials participated in the visit.
Keren Hayesod wishes all 2.5 million Israeli students a wonderful year back in the classroom!

The people of Israel need your support!
