Youth Futures Participants Join the Fight against the Coronavirus Outbreak

Youth Futures participants and their mentors joined national efforts to ensure the safety and health of their fellow Israelis.

Participants, aged 6-13 years old, undertook a special mission to make sure Israelis were donning protective masks. In these difficult times, they decided to make a difference by giving passerbys masks for free and explaining the importance of wearing masks.

The activities of Youth Futures – which deal with the most disadvantaged children in Israel and their families – are continuing despite the pandemic and have even greater significance in light of the financial crisis. Some of the families are in such great need that the project has had to provide them with direct emergency financial assistance to survive.

If you want to help Youth Futures, a donation of $1,000 will provide financial assitance for a family in crisis due to the pandemic. Donations of all sizes appreciated. To make a gift to the people of Israel, click here.

Net@ Resumes Activities under New Routine

Net@, our technological youth movement for periphery youth, leveraged its technological abilities and communal commitment to help Israelis face the new situation.

In addition to ongoing activities based on distance learning, they launched a service platform, Mitchabrim (Connecting), helping elderly and other “technologically” challenged populations use their computers to keep connected to their families and the world in general.

The pandemic made it clear that the skills Net@ provides to disadvantaged youth and the participants’ drive to use these skills to help their community are in need now more than ever!

If you want to help the youth of Net@, a donation of $1,700 will help provide a student in the periphery with this critical learning opportunity for a year. Donations of all sizes appreciated. To make a gift to the people of Israel, click here.

Youth Villages Continue Their Efforts – and Succeed!

Youth Villages have always shown their dedication to ensuring that Israel’s most at-risk youth have the resources and support to succeed.

During the lockdown period, the Hadassah Neurim village stayed opened for 71 high school students that had no home to go back to. For those not on campus, the village had to find ways to assist with ensuring students had access to computers for home-learning.

These efforts resulted with 85% (!) of the graduating class receiving passing marks in their studies, an increase from 50% last year. Notably, 100% of the Ethiopian students (16 in total) of the graduating class matriculated, compared to only 20% last year.

If you want to help the youth villages a donation of $7,200 will help ensure a student’s place for an entire year. Donations of all sizes appreciated. To make a gift to the people of Israel, click here.

Amigour – United for Israel’s Elderly

Israel, like many countries, has been facing the question of how do we keep our elderly safe from the pandemic.

Amigour, the sheltered housing project we support, did an amazing job – with only 3 cases of Corona among its 7,500 residents, all of whom experienced mild symptoms and have fully recovered!

To ensure dignified living for this highly at-risk vulnerable population, Keren Hayesod is helping Amigour to ensure the elderly residents have food and sufficient disinfectant materials.

Food packages were delivered every week during the lock down. These deliveries also included the much needed warm smiles and conversations with volunteers.

As the pandemic is far from over, the crucial work of Amigour to protect the elderly continues.

If you want to help the elderly of the Amigour, a donation of $180 will help provide a food package during this difficult pandemic. Donations of all sizes appreciated. To make a gift to the people of Israel, click here.
