the prize

The Yakir Keren Hayesod Award is given to leaders of Keren Hayesod – United Israel Appeal, in recognition of their commitment and volunteerism, as well as to those who have distinguished themselves by their contribution towards promoting the aims and goals of Keren Hayesod, both in Israel and throughout the Jewish world.

Criteria:

  • Long-standing, devoted service within the Jewish community on behalf of Keren Hayesod – United Israel Appeal
  • An exceptionally high-level or quality contribution, which significantly impacts on Keren Hayesod and the local Campaign
  • Leadership, personal example and bold initiative
  • Recruiting and training volunteer workers and conveying the special messages of Keren Hayesod
  • Unswerving devotion to duty, multi-faceted activity and an unflagging acceptance of the challenges facing Keren Hayesod and the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspor

Guidelines:

  • The award is presented annually to outstanding men and women meeting the criteria. The International Committee at the Jerusalem Head Office, comprising the World Chairman of Keren Hayesod, the Chairman of the World Board of Trustees and the Director General, is entitled to determine the number of recipients each year.
    The award was presented for the first time during Israel’s Jubilee Year.
  • The Committee has the authority not to present the award in any given year.
  • National committees in the various campaigns will recommend award recipients, stating the reasons for their recommendation.
  • The names of recommended candidates and the reasons for their candidacy will reach the Selection Committee, no later than January of each year
