We wish Thea and all her fellow Amigour residents dignified living in their golden years!

Thea, born in Romania in 1920, is a resident of Amigour sheltered housing in Kiryat Motzkin. Thea is a trained gymnast, a discipline she began studying prior to the outbreak of World War II. She survived the Holocaust, and returned, alone, to Romania, where she eventually married and had three children.

In the 1970s, Thea and her family came to Israel. Today, she benefits from Amigour sheltered housing, a project supported by Keren Hayesod. Thea, like many Holocaust survivors, elderly immigrants and others in Israel, faces hardship with fewer financial resources and a small support network. State pensions barely cover the cost of rent, let alone other necessities. Thankfully, our friends at Amigour makes it possible for Thea and elderly in similar situations to live in dignity – and to celebrate her 100th birthday!

We wish Thea and all her fellow Amigour residents dignified living in their golden years!
